Well before the start of the summer season, talks of a “summer body” are inevitably (and unfortunately) suddenly all around us. The commercial take on a "summer body" is wrought with shame-inducing images that are designed to make you feel inferior and unworthy of participating in all that the season has to offer.

Sure, if you practice Pilates you’re going to get stronger abs, arms, and butt muscles. That’s a given. But, more importantly, you’ll get your circulation going and poor blood circulation is far more common than most people think - and more dangerous to our well-being.

Those of you who know me well know that I LOVE nothing more than preparation and organization. In fact, one of my favorite benefits of the Pilates method is that when I'm finished with my practice, I not only feel more capable and "at the ready" physically, but also I feel more organized mentally.

We know that developing a home movement practice can change your life for the better, but I get that there are all sorts of deterrents to actually getting one started. You may think: I need more space! But, in truth, you only really need the size of your mat.
